Job seekers who are out of work due to redundancy may be pleased to learn about a new government package aimed at getting them back into work.

Downing Street has announced £100 million of financial aid aimed at retraining both those the unemployed and those who may be facing redundancy due to staff cuts being made by companies.

It is hoped that this will then give them the extra skills they need to get their CVs noticed and get them back into the 600,000 million jobs that are available in the UK.

Tony McNulty, the employment minister, said: "The new money we are announcing today will help fund training and support so that we can ensure people facing redundancy can access these vacancies and get back to work quickly."

Earlier this week it was reported that new training techniques are also being used by some companies to get the most out of the older employees within companies.
