A new poll has suggested that accountancy and human resources (HR) employees are the most likely to get ill.Conducted by Benenden Healthcare, the survey revealed that 24 per cent of accountants believe their jobs had made them sick, while 68 per cent claimed to feel "run down".
HR employees painted a similar picture, with 56 per cent of them claiming to physically tired by their roles and 29 per cent admitting their jobs had made them ill.
Paul Keenan, a spokesman for the firm, said: "It is important for employers to take into account the health impact work can have on their employees and that they ensure they get sufficient rest time to recuperate from illness."
These findings also reflect the tough economic times, with employees feeling they have to work "hard and prove their worth to their bosses", according to Mr Keenan.
